The attached document describes the functions and responsibilities that will be
addressed by the PC Local Area Network (LAN) System Specialist. This document
is meant to promote an understanding of what is required to coordinate an
increasing installedbase of PC LANs. Although each PC network has its own
unique requirements, a number of proven configurations and operating procedures

A PC LAN requires a coordinated and well thought out plan to be in place prior
to installation. Learning the intricacies of a PC Network does take some time
and would be best served through the guidance of a PC Network Specialist.
In addition, there is a need to keep current with the latest technology and

environments. This too requires a significant effort which would be best
served by a person involved with PC networks on an ongoing basis.
